While we're waiting for others to finish the writing activity...........Dates of our next meetings

Our next meetings will be August 12 and August 26 at noon. Hope to see you there!

Post it: Activity for July 29th meeting- Getting to know you

1. If you were an animal, what kind of animal would you be?

Please pick an animal most suited to yourself, not one that you like and explain why. If it wasn't already obvious this is my attempt to get you all to talk about yourselves because we have a NEW new member! Once again welcome Ashley Marie!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ I've never met you in any of the meetings before unlike Antwion so yeah, hi. (Hello to you too if you're somewhere out there Antwion, the guild master and Ms. Cindy ๐Ÿ‘‹)

2. Write a brief journal entry from the perspective of that animal.๐Ÿ˜ธ
I don't mean to get all teacher-y on yah but well, I am a sub for today. So... please just have fun with this but also hoping to see something that really tells us about you.

June 29th Meeting

It's June 29th, hello everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Come on in and take a seat in our virtual meeting room. ๐Ÿ‘

I'm the secretary Bianca. Once again ๐Ÿ‘‹I'll be subbing for the class today. In the past meeting, the Guild Master mentioned some topics in the previous meeting and I'll just be retouching it, I encourage you to scroll down and revisit the July 8th post if you haven't already seen it.

1.  The deadline for the poetry slam is Thursday, September 1, 2020 ๐Ÿ‘€, *The date has been extended! So feel free to add your submissions in. All you have to do is record a video of yourself reciting your poem, upload the video to a google share drive and send it to referencerequest@ctcd.edu

2. Suggestions for writing activities are always welcomed.

3. If you hold a position please let the Guild Master know if you still hold interest in holding it or if you can no longer due to graduation.
*as for me I don't mind filling this position until someone that wants to takes it. Should I post separately explaining all the positions available?

4. When is it safe to meet up again?

๐Ÿ™Œ

Here are some activities for today. Aside from discussing what's up above...

1. If you were an animal, what kind of animal would you be?

Looking for Inspiration?

Hey there! ๐Ÿ‘‹

When's the last time you wrote something?
There's a lot of inspiring art you can find on pinterst.com, try not to get sucked into viewing too many photos as you scroll there.

How do you normally inspire yourself to write?

(Random) Escape Room Writing Prompt:

It's a hot summer day and you're trapped in a bare basement room with wandering ants, two nails, a crusty tube of wood glue, a plastic toy superhero figurine, a flip-flop, and an evil pinata that kidnapped you from your cousin's birthday party. The evil pinata keeps spawning bananas in the corner of the room- they look like bananas but are super hard, as you got knocked out with one earlier, every now and then it'll poop pieces of gum in the far right corner of the room)it's a cube. Your back is facing the wall with the window and in front of you the evil pinata has his back turned to you. The room only has one window but it's pretty high up. Jimmy, your cousin, said the cops should be on their way in thirty minutes before running back to his party. ๐Ÿ’ข At least he left the window open. By the way, you're wearing a flannel shirt with a tank top underneath, shorts, and sneakers. How will you escape?

July 8th, 2020 Meeting

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you all are having an enjoyable summer so far. I understand that, for some, the virtual meetings are difficult because meeting and speaking with people face to face is FAR better than mere written word. There are a few things that I think everyone would like to discuss during this meeting and I am going to cover a few here. Feel free to add your comments and concerns to this thread.
  • Our next virtual meeting on here is Wednesday, July 29th, 2020 at noon.
  • The deadline for the poetry slam is Thursday, July 30th, 2020. So feel free to add your submission.
  • We are building a list of ideas for writing (like the description posts) and welcome any ideas or inputs that you may have.
  • Are we meeting in person when the semester begins? This is a topic that we will have to keep our ears to the ground on because CTC has opening phases that we will have to adhere too. Ms. Cindy will be the one to more fully speak on this topic.
  • Official positions. I would like to hear from those that hold a position so I know who all we still have. I understand that graduations from CTC do happen on a frequent basis, and we can lose an officer due to that. Please contact me at naomi.n.mitchel90@gmail.com. Once, I know what positions we have available, if any, we may be opening up for any who are interested.
