March 31 Meeting Minutes

 Hi guys,

Good news! Our member Antwion met with Author Ashley Knight and she will help him be published!! Congratulations, Antwion!

Antwion and I were in today's meeting. We discussed solidifying all these plans we've been talking about to drum up membership. I'll be contacting each of you to see what ideas we come up with.

There is light at the end of the tunnel in regards to in-person meetings versus online, so don't give up. Nothing soon, but we can continue to do online fun activities and fundraisers online while waiting.

Remember that any of the members can create a post here, so if anyone has an idea or fun writing activity, go ahead and feel free to start a post.

Our next meeting is on  Wednesday, April 14 at 4:30pm. Hope to see you all then!

Have a great spring day today!

March 31 Meeting

 Hi guys!

Changing time of the meetings and other fun stuff!

 Hi guys,

I've been individually talking to members and it seems like 4:30pm would work better for everyone.

Sooooo.............how about we do that?

It's 12:02 pm. and there are crickets and myself waiting for members in Webex. The crickets are nice and have some really creative ideas. Charles wrote several poems that he shared with me. They were mainly about eating and being eaten, but they were very entertaining. He wished he could have taken part in the Poetry Slam yesterday, but alas, there weren't earphones small enough for him.

Then there is Cecil. Cecil just broke up with his girlfriend, so he is a bit bummed. I suggest that he just let her go and start croaking again for a new friend. He feels very supported.. Just between you and me, his creative writing is very dark. Dark is ok. Especially when you're a cricket. Much safety in that. Especially behind a refrigerator.

Charlene is also here. She says hi!

Charles, Cecil and Charlene also vote for moving the meetings to 4:30pm. I think it's unanimous. Their hands are really small, so it's hard to tell if they hare saying "aye" or "nay."

Oh, here's the list of winners in our Poetry Slam!

Best Poet
1st Dianna Ramos
2nd Gary Phillips
3rd Ashley Demers

Best Poems
1st Gary Phillips   What Lovers Do
2nd Ashley Demers   Hello Goodbye
2nd Dianna Ramos   Fear is for a Moment; Faith is Forever
3rd Ojo Traiye   The Long Crack in My Body Braids into the net
