April 20 Meeting Minutes

 6 Members were in attendance at the meeting. 

We talked about Byways and how to pursue it next year.

Also Asriel quickly wroter some poetic lines and we all created a story from those 4 lines. 

Next meeting is on Wednesday, May 4th at 4:30pm

Don't forget that the Byways Reception is tomorrow from 3-5pm at the library. 

Also next Thursday is our next Author Night (May 5th) at 6-8pm.Come on out to meet published authors! 

Tomorrow is our next Writers Guild Meeting

 Good morning Creative Persons,

We have another Writers Guild meeting tomorrow at 4:30pm. It's in room 211 and I will send out a WebEx invitation for anyone who can't make it in person. 

1. I thought it would be good to talk about Byways. Half of you were named finalists and half were not. It's important to talk about how you feel concerning this. You are all talented and to those who did not get named, this had to be very disappointing.  So let's talk! Which means, don't hide from this. This will be good for everyone, including non-students. If you want to be a successful writer, artist, gamer, photographer and comedy writer, you will have to face rejection. So this is a great opportunity to learn.  In other words, show up to the meeting tomorrow!

Congratulations to all! We're very proud of you! 

1. We can also work on honing our creative skills. 
2. James, William, Robert and Edward, as officers, do you have anything you would like to put on the agenda?
3. Also anyone else?

1.  We will have the creator of the Twilight event stop by and she is wanting to recruit Twilight Voltaire characters and assign play roles for the Oct 8 Twilight New Moon event. If you are interested at all in being a vampire or just working at the event, please come to the meeting tomorrow. 

*NOTE* This Thursday, April 21 is our first Author Night from 6-8pm at the library. Here's your opportunity to talk to published authors and make yourself known in the creative world. The authors will first read from their work and then you can visit with them at tables after. This is a great opportunity for you guys, so please attend it. It's free so bring your family and friends. 

There is also a second Author Night on May 5th from 6-8pm at the library. There will be some different authors at that one, so please try to make that one as well. 

Hopefully, we will see you all tomorrow. We have lots of fun stuff in store.
