Ferbruary 24 Meeting

Long time no see folks. ✋

With a meeting that lasted about 40 minutes, today we were caught up on things discussed during the previous meeting.

 And Antwion's books.

Is 4:30 pm Wednesday and Thursday a good time for everyone to have these virtual meetings? We discussed the availability of everyone. Let us know if it's A-okay for you.

Points to clarify:

  • The Escape Room writing activity doesn't have a time limit but Byways does. If I recall it was extended past March 30.
What's the Escape Room thing about?

It's like a detective activity segment where you use the clues given in a short story and figure out a way to escape the room. Sort of like... a riddle. Or those whodunnit short story riddles, you may have solved as kids.

As the president already mentioned before the Byways is a student-published journal, it's a collection of students' stories, poems, scripts, as well as photos. Feel free to publish something! If you're aspiring you can put it down on your resume that you're a published author.

We have another poetry slam event approaching!

February 10, 2021

 Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you are all having a successful semester so far. There are a few talking points that I would like to hear from you on.

  • Flyer Design- I have the use of a quill and ink bottle to take a picture for the Guild to use without the worry of Copyright. However, I am having difficulty making up my mind as to which extra items to place in the photo. Here is a sample of one of my creations...

  • I have a variety of styled papers, and wax seals at my disposal. My creativity is actually creating quite the block because there are so many options that I can do.

  • Escape Room- we would really appreciate any and all story line ideas for creating the virtual escape room. It seems like it would be a blast and I would love to be able to create this for everyone to enjoy!

  • ByWays- It's that time of year again and if you don't know what I am talking about, well, listen up. Every spring there is a competition and the winner becomes published. Officially Published! The CTC Library is currently accepting submissions for the 2021 Byways Journal of Arts and Literature. It is a student publication featuring original creative written work; short fiction, poetry, song writing, non-fiction and drama. It also includes original artwork: painting, sculptures, photography, and metal works. ALL currently enrolled CTC students worldwide can submit their writing and art for publication consideration. Submissions are due March 30.

  • Fundraisers- There are currently two ideas brewing that the Guild can do for fundraisers. Poetry and the cookbook. Let's get our short short poems and yummy cooking ideas brewing:)
Let's have a great rest of the semester,

Naomi Mitchel
