Hello. 👋
The last time we met up we discussed ways to raise money for the Library's Clothes Lending Closet, one way was suggested was to make cards and sell them, but we would need permission to do so. How did getting permission for that go?
Aside from that Halloween and Nanowrimo month is approaching. I've made decent progress writing on mine, though I've taken a two-day break from doing so. So far I've written 5,582 words which are only 26 pages, I ended up re-writing the draft and am fighting the urge to switch to my different stories. Don't know why when pushing myself to write I suddenly become motivated to work on my others as well. But I'm trying to stay focused.
How has everyone else been doing? How's your progress so far? If you're still taking classes or just now starting, best of luck in finishing.
Since I took my last class, it seems like I've been given the golden pass to graduate in peace finally. Although I don't plan on leaving the club, someone else will have to take over my role by then right? Just a heads up.
The role of a secretary is to take notes, send out emails or reminders about club events, and the like, it's not hard.
Hi Bianca! Thanks for posting the agenda. I haven't heard back about the fundraising and have it on my to-do list today. I took 3 days off and have been trying to catch up.
ReplyDeleteTwenty six pages is a lot. I can write 26 pages and have no clue what I wrote and none of it makes sense together. I've read your work, so I know your content is spot on. Is it one long novel or short snippets? See, I could only write individual short story chapters in my book. It was more like a funny and quirky memoir of ways to get what you want. It's sort of like a survival manual. I envy anyone who can keep a plot line going for an entire novel.
And you're graduating!!!! This semester??? I didn't realize it was that close. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteIt's a long novel. I also have trouble writing long novels, which is why it's better when I write short stories, keeping this in mind, I'm trying to frame my chapters as if they were short stories even though their related. Yeah, in december, officially. It's a huge relief, I hope nothing goes wrong and I don't get back any news about something else I need to do. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSo are you going on to another college to finish a degree or did you work on a degree here? I've known you over a year and I don't think I've ever asked you that.
ReplyDeletebtw, Antwion said he couldn't make it today. I'm not sure about anybody else.
ReplyDeleteJust checked, meeting starts at 1 instead of 12
DeleteGlad you're here. I just sent the Webex invite to you and Bianca
DeleteI don't think this college offers any of the courses I want to learn, my largest concern is finding a suitable job before that honestly, right now I'm freelance writing on iwriter but the pay is little, I can't really recommend it. The good thing about is that you have to research things before you write and it's fun learning new stuff while writing so it makes the job slightly tolerable.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I love learning I feel like being in college made me waste a lot of time? Though it's partly my own fault, because I'm not the type to take four classes at a time but 3, so that's probably why.
I'm thinking of picking up a trade or something I could learn to get by in the meantime, but I don't really have any plans at this point.
are you all on webex?
ReplyDeleteHi Antwion. Nope, I didn't create a meeting. I can send one to you if you hang on.
DeleteJust sent an invite to you and Bianca on your gmail accounts
DeleteAnd if anybody else wants to come onto Webex, let me know and I'll send an invite.
DeleteOne of my children sounded sort of like you in that he wasn't sure what he wanted to do at first and decided to work. After a few years, he knew what he didn't want to do and narrowed down his goals to teaching. Have you looked into things like internships at newspapers? Sometimes you can get published in their opinion sections. I know internships don't pay, but you could do that while working. Is your goal to be a writer?
ReplyDeleteYeah.
ReplyDeleteWant to meet us in Webex?
