Meeting today and what we did at the last one

 Good morning Fellow Creative Individuals!

We have a meeting today at 4:30 in the library, 2nd floor, Room 211. I'll be sending out a WebEx invitation for those who can't make it in person.

We will be nominating a couple of new officers, need to talk about tee shirts, the Haunted House in October, and the Horror Video Contest, and will check in on what people have been doing creatively. Please come with your ideas for a quote for the tee shirt, designs, and who you would like to nominate for office. You must be a current CTC student to hold an office. 

We want to thank James for being an amazing President for the last 2 years. James inspired many people to join the group and we appreciate his hard work. We hope he remains a part of the group and we wish him well in his next step beyond CTC. Keep being you, James! You're awesome!

At the last meeting, we enhanced our creativity by taking words and creating stories with them. 

And since the last meeting, we have a few Byways winners in our group. Congratulations Edward, Amare, Dez, Ashley, and Emeli! The entire Writers Guild is invited to the reception on May 4th. It will be at the library. I'll attach the flyer.

 Meeting Minutes March 8, 2023

We had 8 people at the meeting (Emma who is a new member), Thomas, Dez, Asriel, Emeli, Edward, Amare and Cindy. 

We discussed Byways for a few minutes

We then played some creative games:

First, we wrote a poem and shared it

Then we came up with random words and created a story together

Then we came up with a theme and drew a picture

We briefly talked about the slogan for our tee shirt

We ate candy and chips too. 

Our next meeting is Wednesday, March 22 at 4:30pm

You guys have a great spring break and keep creating!

I realized that I didn't put this Wednesday's Writers Guild meeting on my calendar, so unfortunately, I scheduled something that takes me to Temple at the time of the meeting.

1. Those working Twilight (Saturday) tomorrow please be at the planetarium at 1:30pm unless you told me you will be there later. 
2. We still need volunteers. If you can make it, show up tomorrow at the planetarium. 
3. Wear either all black or all white. 

Haunted House

• Due to the rules that the sponsor needs to be there 6-midnight on oct 28 and oct 29, I can't commit to do the House and carnival. I may need to be out of town.
• 
  
• Therefore whoever wants to work the event, please let me know. We have an alternate way to make it happen, by going with another club.

Poetry Slam and Open Mic

• The slam is this upcoming Thursday at 4:30pm. See flyer at the bottom and attached
• You can perform anything in your 3 minutes - poetry, dance, song, musical instrument, acting, speech
• Here is the link and flyer. Sign up asap. https://forms.gle/kUgyaKp22TgjgFrBA. We already have people signed up. You MUST register to be able to participate.

Wednesday, Sept 21 - 4:30-5:30pm There were 5 members at yesterday's meeting Ari Amare Keisha Edward Matthew Dezmone We talked about the Oct 8 Twilight event. We have our Volturi and can use one more guy, but we may get him from another club. We have been playing creativity games and created a story together with cards, dice and magnets. Our sad story about a woman musician who had no audience had a weird monkey storming through a toll booth climatic scene. But there was a happy ending, so all was well. There will be a sequel. Important We need Writers Guild members to help with the Twilight games on Saturday Oct 8. The event is from 2:30-8pm, so please email me with a time you can join us. We can do shifts of 2:00- 4:00, 4:00-6:00 and 6:00-8pm. So please respond like this: Name Time **Also important** The Haunted House is Oct 28 and Oct 29 from 6-11pm.
