Vocal Media: Earn money gradually from views
Hey there! I'm Bianca, a former club member.
Just wanted to tell everyone about a site called vocal.media
It's a site where you can write short stories, poems, journal pieces, book reviews, etc, and post it there. Gradually you earn money from the views.
It's not a quick money thing but it's a good side hustle to have and I wanted to share it with you all, I'm not sure if I or someone in the past mentioned this before, I feel that's the case... just putting it back up out there tho!
There are also writing competitions where you win money if you get the first place, challenges vary and have different times. Some you need to have memberships for, but others you don't.
I was just thinking that in the past there was that Communication meets Community event right? And we had to convince people why they should check out something we like- it'd be a good place to write post like those.
Minimum of words you can write for posts is at least 600.

Meeting Minutes! For November 3 2021 Meeting!
Today's meeting was fun! and Welcome the new members and some returning members!
The thing that we talked about is a gaming fundraising which I will be needing help from all of the gamers, along with any fundraising ideas that y'all pitch at us.
Sarah pitched us a photo of a drawing that we all wrote a little story.
We voted for the next semester, 2022 that we will be meeting every other week which 8 people voted during the meeting.
Any members, pitch us any kind of activities that for the next meeting. For me I have a suggestion of a scenario of you can choose a super power like if you seen MHA, which is My Hero Academia, and you are in a Hero School like in the show
Also if anyone having trouble getting in discord but y'all in the blog site, my email is gamerkidx101@yahoo.com

Meeting Minutes!
Wednesday, October 6th - Writers Guild Meeting Overview
The meeting we talking about how we'll participate in the Halloween event which we decided to go with games and opted out of selling food, so next Wednesday, October 13th we are going to be creating some games and coming up with ideas so the next meeting we can have an official type meeting. Then the club officers should have been sent out an invitation to participate in a club orientation, the invitation was sent by Mariceli Vargas. If you didn't get an invitation and you're an officer, let Cindy know.We later figure out alternate fundraisers and the plans for the next meeting. Then lastly James has a fun activity planned for us, which was a little writing assignment thing that was fun! Don't forget to post it in the blog!
*Note- Saturday, October 23rd is the Halloween event*
Hope everyone enjoyed the meeting and y'all staying safe. Lets have fun and be creative because that is what we are all about!

Hey James! Where's the story line? And we're meeting next Weds for a special decoration to-do
Hi guys! James gave us a great premise to a storyline and at our last meeting we all made a story from it. I'll remind him to post it here so we can put our stories here. The ones we read at the meeting were great!
Also, we are meeting next week at 4:30 at the library to make games and decorate them for the Halloween thingy. I'll send out an email reminder.
See you there!

Wow, This Thing's Weird... Let's See...
Hey guys, it's Kaeden! It's about time I figured out how to use this thing; this is my first time ever blogging. I guess I'll talk a bit about myself and what I do. As you are probably aware of, I like to call myself a bit of a writer. I am currently working on a novel series called Choose Your Class, and it's about magic. I will probably post something later about the series alone, and I will surely reference it a lot—which... I do in normal conversation, and it can be a little weird to some. Another thing I like to do is drawing. I have mastered my artistic ability—well, somewhat. I was in the Byways journal this spring, and I plan on being in the one next year also. There my works will be shown to the world once again! The third thing about me is that I love anime! Wow, I'm the perfect person for this club, aren't I? I currently do not have a favorite, but I love My Hero Academia, and I loved what I watched of Kill La Kill! Those are some crazy shows. The last thing about me is that I love to play video games, especially Nintendo games. That is just part of me. Anyways, I'll keep up with this blog—someone's got to do it. Please, please feel free to post yourself. *whispers* I am trying to encourage conversation. Anyways, thanks for reading my post! Hope you like my drawing!
Edit: In case you're wondering, you can add to the blog in the top-right corner of the screen, next to your email.Wow, This Thing's Weird... Let's See...

Just noticed we didn't put the July Meeting minutes
Um. So what did we talk about guys? I can't remember what we had for breakfast. Who was at the meeting? I'm sure we chit chatted about publishing our work. We probably also talked about what we like to write about. And we also probably talked about what we were working on.
Or we may have meandered around talking about anime or movies or books. We could have discussed Sims for the hour. Or we could have planned several fundraisers that we haven't quite gotten off the ground.
Oh but I found out that we can actually have food at our meetings and have money to buy it. That's new!
And whatever it was that we talked about, I'm sure we had fun meeting. Oh and I'm sure I nagged you about working the Welcome Bash table.
Oh and at our next meeting, we'll need to get at least one officer. We really need 3 officers (secretary, treasurer, and parliamentarian I think). Our President, Naomi will hopefully be at our meeting. And our outgoing Secretary Bianca, will hopefully be there as well, to hand over the spot. Bianca graduated, but is still an active part of our group.
Ok. That was some semblance of meeting minutes. Seriously guys! I can't remember things a month away. If you remember what we talked about, please add to this ramble. :-) Thanks!

How's it Goin?
Howdy All,
My name is Jo-Lynn (on here under one of my future pen names). I just wanted to drop a few lines and say hello, see if I could figure out how to post on here haha, and pick everyone's brain for a second.
I saw some advice on a meme (that sounds a lot worse written out) that said the trick to beating writing procrastination is to have multiple WIPs, so that every time you get writer's block or bored of working on one, you can go to the other. At first I just kinda chuckled and moved about my scrolling.... but um... months later still kinda feeling snagged on my project, I'm thinking whoever wrote that meme might be a genius. I was wondering if anyone else has tried this procrastination hack? If so, did it work???
I'm thinking as long as that WIP number is within reason and I can keep them all organized within reason, it might be a thing. Perhaps this is where having Scrivener will pay off? I plan to try it out and see! *Procrastination Powers Activate*
Anyways, I hope this message finds everyone well and enjoying their summer.
~Jo

Meeting Minutes for June 9
Hi Guys! At today's meeting we shared the name of a local author. We probably should start looking around our city for as many authors as we can to help us.
We also talked about genres we like to write about and read. Dystopian seems to be the favorite. We shared titles of books and series to read and talked about anything we published.
Jo-Lynn has some baby birds learning to fly on her porch and is actively looking for the Golden ticket hidden in the library. btw, it's still hidden.
Hope you guys are doing well! We're looking forward to having everyone back in a face-to-face meeting this fall.
See you guys on July 7th!

Hope you guys are doing well! We're looking forward to having everyone back in a face-to-face meeting this fall.
See you guys on July 7th!

Last meeting minutes and next meetings
Hi Fellow Writers!
At our last meeting, we voted on meeting once a month through the summer. So mark you calendars for these dates:
- Wednesday, June 9 at 4:30pm
- Wednesday, July 7 at 4:30pm
We had a great discussion at the meeting on what writing projects we are all working on. We discussed genres and "those great life-long novels" we keep redoing.
I promised everyone, that I would get some resources for them.
- Gaming and events for CTC https://www.ctcd.edu/news-events/
- Two really great sites for writers for information on query letters and how to find a literary agent
- Several forums for aspiring writers of young adult fiction
We talked about getting the recipe/poem book together and we're getting closer to actually doing it. :-)
There is also a possibility that we may be able to start doing in-person/virtual meetings in the fall. It would be a combination of anyone who can be there, be at the library and then we also bring a laptop to join Webex and the blog. That way those members who can't physically make it, can join us virtually.
I didn't bring it up at the meeting, but we are also planning something similar with a combined in-person/virtual Communication Meets Community and the professors are back on board with it for giving out extra credit. I'll give you more details as we know more.
As always, you can email us if you think of anything else. Just hit reply all on our emails. :-)
Have a great rest of your week!

March 14 Meeting Minutes
Hi guys! We had 3 members in the meeting today, including myself. We decided to move forward with the recipe/poetry book. So if you have a recipe that you created and would like to share with us, please email it to cynthia.oser@ctcd.edu. Also if you have a very short (5 line or less) uplifting poem that you would like to share, please send that too. Make sure you include your name on your contribution.
We plan to put the recipe book together and offer it as a fundraiser for the club. Email us for more details.
We hope everyone is doing well in class and their jobs. Keep in touch!
See you at the next meeting!

March 31 Meeting Minutes
Hi guys,
Good news! Our member Antwion met with Author Ashley Knight and she will help him be published!! Congratulations, Antwion!
Antwion and I were in today's meeting. We discussed solidifying all these plans we've been talking about to drum up membership. I'll be contacting each of you to see what ideas we come up with.
There is light at the end of the tunnel in regards to in-person meetings versus online, so don't give up. Nothing soon, but we can continue to do online fun activities and fundraisers online while waiting.
Remember that any of the members can create a post here, so if anyone has an idea or fun writing activity, go ahead and feel free to start a post.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday, April 14 at 4:30pm. Hope to see you all then!
Have a great spring day today!

Changing time of the meetings and other fun stuff!
Hi guys,
I've been individually talking to members and it seems like 4:30pm would work better for everyone.
Sooooo.............how about we do that?
It's 12:02 pm. and there are crickets and myself waiting for members in Webex. The crickets are nice and have some really creative ideas. Charles wrote several poems that he shared with me. They were mainly about eating and being eaten, but they were very entertaining. He wished he could have taken part in the Poetry Slam yesterday, but alas, there weren't earphones small enough for him.
Then there is Cecil. Cecil just broke up with his girlfriend, so he is a bit bummed. I suggest that he just let her go and start croaking again for a new friend. He feels very supported.. Just between you and me, his creative writing is very dark. Dark is ok. Especially when you're a cricket. Much safety in that. Especially behind a refrigerator.
Charlene is also here. She says hi!
Charles, Cecil and Charlene also vote for moving the meetings to 4:30pm. I think it's unanimous. Their hands are really small, so it's hard to tell if they hare saying "aye" or "nay."
Oh, here's the list of winners in our Poetry Slam!
We're still working on the virtual escape room, the poetry book fundraiser and the recipe fundraiser.

So I heard we got more members! Welcome to the Writers Guild! :3
Tell us about yourselves!
I'm a former CTC student, and writers guild club member that's just a lurker at this point. I write stories on webnovel.com, in my spare time while making smoothies for the time being. ;o; Nicetameetchya.
We'll be having a meeting March 10th at 4:30 in the afternoon via webex. p

Ferbruary 24 Meeting
Long time no see folks. ✋
With a meeting that lasted about 40 minutes, today we were caught up on things discussed during the previous meeting.
And Antwion's books.
Is 4:30 pm Wednesday and Thursday a good time for everyone to have these virtual meetings? We discussed the availability of everyone. Let us know if it's A-okay for you.
Points to clarify:
- The Escape Room writing activity doesn't have a time limit but Byways does. If I recall it was extended past March 30.
It's like a detective activity segment where you use the clues given in a short story and figure out a way to escape the room. Sort of like... a riddle. Or those whodunnit short story riddles, you may have solved as kids.
As the president already mentioned before the Byways is a student-published journal, it's a collection of students' stories, poems, scripts, as well as photos. Feel free to publish something! If you're aspiring you can put it down on your resume that you're a published author.
We have another poetry slam event approaching!
